There are different types of club insurance policies. These policies are made particularly for health clubs, spas and fitness centers. If you own a business of this nature, it is vital that you have the right insurance for it. Some types of insurance may be mandatory by law, but there are other types of club insurance that, while not obligatory, are very important to have as they protect your company from claims and serious loss.

When choosing an insurance policy for your health club or spa, it is very important to understand what is or is not covered under the policy. Different insurance companies have different package'; no matter what insurance company you take out coverage from, be sure to read the insurance coverage policy carefully and note what is or is not covered under the policy. With many insurance policies, unless something is specifically noted as being covered under the policy, then it is not covered. Know what you need and want covered and be sure the policy you take out is covering everything you feel is important.

You should also consider the risks you face in the area you live. For instance, if your fitness center is located in an area that gets a lot of heavy snow in the winter, then it would be wise to purchase a club insurance policy that covers your building in case of damage from frost, sleet or excessive snow. If you live in an area that is regularly hit by hurricane, purchase a policy that will cover your building in case of hurricane damage.

If you have a car that is registered in the name of the healthy club or fitness center, then you will be required to take out a commercial car insurance policy for the vehicle. This type of policy is different from a regular car insurance policy, and the exact minimum car insurance that is required by law varies from state to state. Look into local laws and ensure that the vehicle has at least the minimum insurance required.

You should also have some sort of liability insurance, in order to protect your business from lawsuits and claims. Such litigation could ruin you, even if you are found innocent in the end. Having the right coverage will protect you from being sued by a disgruntled customer or a customer who has had an accident at the gym or spa. Such an insurance policy would also cover the medical bills of a person who for any reason is injured while at your gym or spa.

Worker's compensation insurance coverage is another good type of insurance coverage to have. This type of coverage will cover the medical bills of a worker who is hurt on the job. It will also protect you from being sued by the person.
